Ball Screw Jacks Applied in AGV Systems
In this solution, an interconnected assembly of four ball screw jacks serves as the primary lifting mechanism for an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle). The top flanges of the screw jacks are securely bolted to the cargo racks, while a high-performance servo motor provides precise motion control to govern the lifting strokes.
During operation, the cargo is initially loaded onto the AGV inside the loading zone. The AGV’s internal travel mechanism then navigates and transports the cargo to the designated drop-off location. Once in position, the multi-jack lifting mechanism elevates the load to the required height, allowing secondary handling equipment to seamlessly unload and place the cargo according to specific operational demands.
Screw Jacks Applied in Automotive Production Lines
Screw Jack Application in Railway Turnout Laying
Turnouts play an important role in railway lines, serving as track connecting equipment that enables locomotives and rolling stock to transition from one track to another. When laying turnouts, fine adjustment of the rail height is required to ensure that adjacent rails are at the same horizontal level. During use, the rails are indirectly connected to the housing of the screw jack through adapter plates. The top flange of the screw jack faces downward and is supported by the ground.
The drive source rotates the worm shaft via a pulley to achieve the lifting and lowering of the housing, thereby realizing the fine adjustment of the rails in the vertical direction. When the screw jack is equipped with pulleys, under the same load conditions, the larger the ratio of the driven pulley to the driving pulley, the larger the speed ratio of the screw jack, and the smaller the power required from the drive source.
Bevel Gear Screw Jack Application in AGV Transfer Carts
This case applies to operating conditions with high frequency and fast speed. The AGV transfer cart is used for workshop assembly line operations, requiring high lifting frequency and fast speed. Therefore, a bevel gear ball screw jack is selected.
Compared with the traditional worm gear screw jack, the bevel gear ball screw jack has a high transmission efficiency of up to 80% or more. Its main transmission components, the spiral bevel gear and the ball screw, do not easily experience wear during long-term operation, which greatly extends the service life. In this case, four bevel gear screw jacks are driven by a single motor. The two steering gearboxes in the middle are non-standard customized, and their two output shafts rotate in opposite directions to ensure that the four screw jacks can lift and lower synchronously.
